Common Names:[edit]
Dwarf sugar palm
Distribution & Habitat:[edit]
Philippine rainforest.
Description:[edit]
It is a small to medium sized acaulescent (trunkless) clumping palm which grows to about 3m (9 ft) tall, and 5m (15 ft) wide. It is very similar to A. engleri, but with more widely spaced, drooping leaves.
Culture:[edit]
Does quite well in a wide range of temperatures, even growing as far south as Sydney. Likes full sun, or light shade. They can be used as a hedge plant, because of their low spreading habitat.
