Known as pacaya, pacayo, and chilac in Guatemala.
Distribution & Habitat:[edit]
Native to dense, wet, lowland rainforest on the Atlantic side of southern Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and Belize; 0-400 m elevation; occasionally on limestone.
Description:[edit]
This plant is a slender, solitary stem to 4.5 m (15 ft.) tall, with a small crown of pinnate leaves with broad leaflets. It has bright orange-red clusters of kidney-shaped fruit that are very attractive. It is very similar to C. pinnatifrons but it can be easily distinguished by its fruit.

Warm, sheltered and moist, but well drained.
