Habitat:[edit]

Moist rainforest of north-east La Grande-Terre, New Caledonia. Most common on the eastern slopes of Mt. Panie between 400 and 1,600m.

Description:[edit]

A tall palm to 20m with a prominantly ringed, brown trunk. Crownshaft is orange, with a thick white, waxy cover.

Closely related to Cyphokentia.

Culture:[edit]

Moist, protected situation when small, becoming more sun tolerant as the plant grows.
