Conservation Status:

This species is thought to be extinct in habitat due to its last known locality being cleared in 1999.

Distribution & Habitat:

Rainforest on the east coast of Madagascar.

Description:

A small, clustering palm with stems about 5mm in diameter and up to 2m high which has leathery leaves that are almost entire with only a 5mm notch at the end. This species has the most entire leaf of all the Dypsis.

Culture:

Warm, sheltered, and moist.
