Endemic to Mauritius, this specimen photographed at the Jardin Botanique de Curepipe is perhaps the only specimen in existence. The palm was in flower but apparently has never set viable seed. This sparse-crowned tall spindly specimen was difficult to photograph. Perhaps a "cherry picker" would have been handy!
