Conservation Status:[edit]
[Critically endangered], with less than 50 plants left in the wild.
Distribution & Habitat:[edit]
Tropical montane rainforest at 400-550m altitude on Mauritius.
Description:[edit]
An attractive palm, with prominant rings on the trunk, and stiff, arching leaves. The inflorescence spathe is very distinctive, being very long, and angled acutely upwards.

Becoming very rare due to land clearing, and despite being much sought after by collectors, it is very rarely seen for sale or in collections.

A lightly shaded, well drained position (probably).
