Widely distributed throughout western Sumatra.
Description:[edit]
A tall, solitary fan palm to about 15 metres (45 feet) in height, petioles up to 3 metres (9 feet) long which have yellow stripes going down their length. It has large corky fruit, about the size of a tennis ball.

Moist, sunny position. Tropical requirements.
