===Common Names:===
Coquillo Palm

===Distribution & Habitat:===
Found in the montane forests of Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama.

===Description:===
A medium sized palm with a short trunk, and
a crown of arching leaves with close, wide leaflets.
The leaves, up to 3m long, are dark green above and gray-white below
and are very spiny.

===Culture:===
Warm, sheltered, and moist, rich soil. Likes lots of water.
Tolerant on very mild frosts and is pretty wind resistant. Neatens up to a very attractive specimen, best planted without anything in the vacinity for best form.
