Coastal rainforest on the Atlantic side of Central America.

===Description:===
A small solitary palm with shiny green, pinnate leaves,
and slightly curved, spiny stems,
which eventually reach about 3m tall.
Typically forms small clumps of plants.

===Culture:===
Warm, sheltered and moist.
