===Distribution:===
Widely distributed over the east coast, as well as the central east,
and north-west of Madagascar.

===Description:===
A slender, solitary palm, up to 10m tall, with arching, pale green leaves,
and cupped, clumped leaflets. New leaves are often pink/red.
Very similar in appearance to ''D. pinnatifrons'',
but not normally so robust.

===General:===
Hollowed out stems are used for blowpipes.

===Culture:===
Lightly shaded, moist, but well drained position.
A very attractive, and easily grown garden plant.
