Only known from the island of Ile Saine Marie,
off the north-east coast of Madagascar.

===Habitat:===
An understory palm of the open forest.

===Description:===
A small, clustering palm to about 2.5m tall, with erect leaves,
forming a shuttlecock like arrangement.

Only known from a single locality, which is under threat from
habitat clearance.

===Culture:===
Warm, sheltered and moist.
