===Distribution & Habitat:===
Found on limestone based soils in Grand Montagne,
Anse Quitor and Ravine de la Cascade, St Louis,
on the Mascarene Island of Rodriguez.

===Description:===
A very distinctive palm, with a solitary, spindle shaped, grey trunk,
(thin at either end), to about 6m tall, and lightly recurved pinnate leaves.
The young inflorescences are also distinctive,
being curved, and horn shaped.

===General:===
Becoming rare in the wild, but quite a common palm now in cultivation.

===Culture:===
Sunny, moist, but well drained position. Frost and salt tolerant.
