Tiger Palm<br/>

===Distribution & Habitat:===
Widely distributed in humid rainforests throughout the Philippines,
from low through to high altitudes.

===Description:===
A very attractive solitary palm to about 5m tall,
with purplish/brown crownshaft. Leaves are up to 2m long,
with irregularly spaced leaflets, dark green above with
large irregular areas of lighter green ("Tiger" stripes).

===General:===
Very popular with palm collectors.

===Culture:===
Warm, sheltered, and moist, altho it can take night-time temps down to
5&#176;C.
