===Common Names:===
Florida Thatch Palm

===Habitat:===
Found in coastal forest of South Florida, South-east Mexico to Nicaragua,
and much of the northern Caribbean.

===Description:===
An attractive, medium sized, solitary fan palm to 6m tall, with a slender, smooth trunk and
dark green, glossy, circular fan leaves with drooping leaf tips.

===Culture:===
Sunny, well drained, calcareous soil, in the tropics and sub-tropics.
Salt tolerant, but slow growing.
