Z. picta
Distribution & Habitat:[edit]
Lowland rainforest, mainly in Guatemala, where it is found in the catchment of the Rio Motagua. Also found in Chiapas state (Lacandona area) of Mexico and the coastal areas of Belize and Honduras.
Description:[edit]
The only variegated species of cycad in the world. A small to medium sized plant, with leaves up to 3m long, with a subterranean trunk, and mildly variegated leaves.
Culture:[edit]
Likes warmth, shade, and quite a lot of water. A slow grower.
