Distribution & Habitat:[edit]

Found all over New Caledonia, from sea level to mountain tops, from rainforest, to fully exposed situations.

Description:[edit]

Clustering although occasionally single trunked emergent palm to about 8m. Very colourful crownshaft. Highly variable.

General:[edit]

A common collectors palm, and by far the most commonly grown of the Basselinia.

Culture:[edit]

Easily grown in light shade, and moist well drained soil.
