Distribution & Habitat:

It is found growing on clay soils in the lowland rainforests of northwestern Amazonia.

Description:

Medium sized, solitary palm with a smooth, grey, slender trunk (4-15cm in diameter) to about 20m tall, with long arching, slightly plumose leaves, and long, thin drooping leaflets.

Culture:

Sunny, moist, well drained position in the tropics/warm sub-tropics.
