Habitat:[edit]

Tropical rainforests from sea level to 1000m (3000').

Description:[edit]

A slender feather palm to about 12m (40'). Oval, red fruits to 6cm (2.5").

General:[edit]

Used as a Betel Nut substitute, and becoming popular in SE Asia due to supposed magical medicinal powers.

Cultivation:[edit]

Cold sensitive, so it likes a sunny, well drained position in the tropics.
