Distribution & Habitat:
Widely distributed throughout tropical South America and Trinidad.
Description:
A tall, solitary, pinnate palm, with long thin leaflets.
General:
The fruit is used for the production of biodiesel due to its very high oil content. The fruit is also a very good source of Vitamin A.
Cultivation:
Sunny, moist but well drained position. Tropical.
