Distribution & Habitat:

Widely distributed in Amazon wet rainforest.

Description:

Small spiny clustering palm, with trunks up to 2 m tall, leaves 3.5-4 m long, altho only spiny along the base of the petiole. Fruit starts out green but becomes red.

Culture:

Warm, sheltered and moist.
