Samoa Palm

Distribution & Habitat:

Found in cloud forests on the island of Samoa in the southern Pacific.

Description:

A very attractive feather-leaved palm which has a tall, slender, ringed trunk to 25m and a powdery blue crownshaft. The trunk is initially white but turns green with age. The juveniles have large undivided leaves, but on the adults they become very finely divided with drooping leaflets.

Culture:

Sunny, humid, and moist but well drained position in the tropics or sub-tropics. Fast growing. Very highly recommended for tropical gardens.
