Synonymy:

Phloga nodifera,
Phloga polystacha,
Dypsis polystacha

Distribution:

Widely distributed over the east coast, as well as the central east, and north-west of Madagascar.

Description:

A slender, solitary palm, up to 10m tall, with arching, pale green leaves, and cupped, clumped leaflets. New leaves are often pink/red. Very similar in appearance to D. pinnatifrons, but not normally so robust.

General:

Hollowed out stems are used for blowpipes.

Culture:

Lightly shaded, moist, but well drained position. A very attractive, and easily grown garden plant.
