Widely distributed throughout the northern Amazon rainforest.
Description:[edit]
A tall, thin, solitary feather palm, stem to 30cm in diameter and up to 18m tall, with drooping leaflets. It has dark red to purple, globose fruits,

The fruit is made into a drink, after removing the skin and cooking.

Sunny, moist, but well drained position. Prefers tropical conditions.
