Description:[edit]
Small, mottled leaved palm, usually pinnate, however, there is a form with simple leaves. Altho a clumping palm, it is usually single stemmed, with small basal suckers. New leaves have a distinctive reddish or purplish tinge.

Rarely seen in cultivation, which is a shame, since its a very attractive palm.

Warm, sheltered, and moist.
