Threatened by habitat destruction and encroachment by agriculture and forestry.

Distribution & Habitat:[edit]

Found in open and closed dry pine forest up to 500 m, on Mountain Pine Ridge and Cayo District, Belize.

Description:[edit]

An attractive, medium sized, unarmed, solitary fan palm, to about 10m tall.

A very gracefull fan palm which is popular with collectors, but hasn't yet found a wider audience.

Culture:[edit]

Sunny, moist, but well drained position. Can take full sun at an early age. Slow growing.
