Southern Zaire, and north-eastern Angola.

Distribution & Habitat:[edit]

Open grassland.

Description:[edit]

A small clumping cycad to about 2m tall, and up to 3 trunks. Leaves are up 1.5m long, with the young leaves being covered in white hairs.

General:[edit]

It is thought that elephants eat the seeds, and are thus the main seed disperser.

Culture:[edit]

Sunny, well drained, sandy position. Frost sensitive. Plants in habitat are deciduous in winter.
