A single hill in Natal, South Africa

Distribution & Habitat:[edit]

South facing sandstone cliffs, and scree slopes at about 1000m.

Description:[edit]

A small to medium sized suckering cycad to about 3m. Very closely related to Encephalartos natalensis, and Encephalartos lebomboensis]].

General:[edit]

Only described in 1990, and due to its extremely limited distribution the exact location wasn't divulged in the description to protect the plant from poachers.

Culture:[edit]

Sunny, very well drained position. Frost tolerant.
