Talipot Palm<br/>

===Distribution & Habitat:===
Forest in India and Sri Lanka.

===Description:===
One of the largest palms in the world, up to 25m tall,
with costapalmate leaves up to 5m across, and petioles to 4m.

===General:===
Lives up to eighty years, but only flowers just before it dies.
Has an inflorescence up to 6m tall, and containing several million flowers.

===Culture:===
Sunny, moist, but well drained position. Drought tolerant.
Needs considerable space. Very slow growing.
